Writer G X Todd (otherwise known as West Midlands mobile librarian Gemma Todd) releases her debut novel, Defender, on January 12 with Headline, and the book is already gaining buzz from the media, readers and fellow authors alike.

A thriller influenced by Stephen King and Neil Gaiman, Defender is set in post-apocalyptic America, following main characters Pilgrim and Lacey as they battle to survive in a world in which people are threatened by the voices in their own heads. Described as 'simply majestic' by author Adam Christopher, Defender is the first in a four part series that everyone should be watching out for.
